Sören Bertram (born June 5, 1991 in Uelzen ) is a German football player . He can be used in midfield and in attack .

Career

Bertram started at Teutonia Uelzen in January 1995 at the age of three and a half . From there he moved to FC St. Pauli in 2002 , where he stayed for three years and then went to city rivals Hamburger SV . Here he was used in the U-17 and U-19 Bundesliga and was also discovered for the youth teams of the DFB. On November 18, 2008 he made his debut in the U18 national team , for which he played 15 appearances. In September 2009 he received the Fritz Walter Medal in silver in the age group U-18 as Rookie of the Year. Frank Engel , then coach of the U-18 team of the DFB , praised him as versatile and dangerous for goals, but also noted a lack of courage.

On the fourth match day of the 2009/10 season , during his last season as a youth player, he also played his first senior game. Then he was used several times in the regional league north in the reserve team of HSV and was in the squad for the first time from the beginning in October against St. Pauli II. Only a month later he was allowed to sit on the bench of the first division professionals for the first time. On December 2, 2009, on the 5th matchday of the group stage of the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League , he made his competitive debut for the professional team in a 2-0 home win against SK Rapid Wien . He replaced Dennis Aogo shortly before the end .

On December 21, 2009, Bertram signed his first professional contract with HSV, which ran until June 30, 2013. He made his Bundesliga debut on April 17, 2010 in a 0-1 home defeat against 1. FSV Mainz 05 .

During the summer break of 2010 he was loaned to the second division club FC Augsburg for the 2010/11 season. Bertram returned to Hamburg for the 2011/12 season. There he was used throughout the season in the U-23 team in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord . In the summer of 2012, Bertram moved to VfL Bochum , where he signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2015. Since he did not get any prospects for the then Bochum coach Peter Neururer , he was loaned to third division Hallescher FC for one year for the 2013/14 season.

In his first third division season he scored 18 points (11 goals) and was, together with Timo Furuholm , the best scorer of his team, was among the top 10 scorers in the league and was named three times by the kicker sports magazine in the "Elf des (game) Day "selected. After the season he was signed by Halleschen FC and given a two-year contract. In the 2015/16 season in particular , he was able to achieve 18 points (9 goals) again, making him second-best scorer in Halle behind Osayamen Osawe and among the top 10 scorers in the league. This season he was elected 8 times in the "Eleven of the Day" of the 3rd division, which together with Julius Biada leads this statistic.

In June 2016, Sören Bertram moved to the second division Erzgebirge Aue for three years . Due to a torn cruciate ligament, which he sustained while wearing the Halleschen FC jersey, he missed the first half of the 2016/17 season and made his debut on March 5, 2017 for FC Erzgebirge Aue. In the 2-2 draw against Arminia Bielefeld , he was substituted on by interim coach Robin Lenk in the 81st minute for Fabio Kaufmann .

On September 9, 2017, Sören Bertram scored his first competitive goal for FC Erzgebirge Aue. In the 2-1 win against FC Ingolstadt 04 in the 2nd Bundesliga, he scored the interim 2-0 lead in the 50th minute. Bertram had scored his last goal in the 2nd Bundesliga almost seven years earlier in the FC Augsburg jersey . Bertram attracted even more attention when, two game days later, on September 19, 2017 , he scored a brace in the away game at 1. FC Kaiserslautern , so that he was voted player of the game and the “Eleven of the Day” of the 2. Bundesliga . In the relegation second leg of the 2017/18 season , Bertram scored a hat trick and secured the violets with these three goals relegation.

After he was no longer part of the starting line-up of the squad at the end of the first half of the following season , Bertram moved to league competitor SV Darmstadt 98 during the winter break of the 2018/19 season , for whom he made nine appearances in the second half .

1. FC Magdeburg , relegated to the 3rd division, signed the offensive player in summer 2019 and provided him with a one-year contract.
