Daniel Steininger (born April 13, 1995 in Passau ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with 1. FC Magdeburg and who played an international match for the German U19s .
Career
societies
Steininger came to SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2010 through the youth stations DJK Sonnen , Sturm Hauzenberg , 1. FC Passau and SpVgg Grün-Weiß Deggendorf . There he first played in the B- and A-Juniors Bundesliga , before in 2013 - although still eligible to play for the A-Jugend - he was pulled up into the second team that played in the Regionalliga Bayern . There he drew attention to himself with good performances and trained with the first team from January 2014. Shortly thereafter, he signed his first professional contract until 2018.
In the summer of 2014, Steininger was loaned to third division club SSV Jahn Regensburg until the end of the 2014/15 season in order to develop further and to gain match practice. On August 2, 2014 (2nd match day) he made his debut in the 1: 3 defeat in the away game against the Stuttgarter Kickers with a substitute for Thomas Kurz in the 67th minute in professional football. 25 more games followed, in which he was able to score five goals.
After his return, the attacker mainly played for the regional league team, but was also used occasionally in the second division. After a meniscus injury sustained in preparation for the 2019/20 season , the recovered Steininger was active as a test player in friendly matches during the winter break in the training camp of the third division club 1. FC Magdeburg without any further use for Fürth . Steininger was then signed up and received a contract valid until June 2021.
National team
In March 2014, the Passauer made his debut for the German U19 national team , in the 1-1 draw against Italy Steininger came on shortly before the end.
