Borussia Dortmund

In 1999 Kruska moved from VfR Rauxel to the youth team at Borussia Dortmund . There he went through all youth selections from the C-youth on, before he made his debut in the Bundesliga at the age of 17. In the 0-1 away defeat at 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2004/05 season , he was substituted on for Patrick Kohlmann just before half- time. The defensive midfielder scored his first competitive goal on the last day of the season in a 2-1 win against Hansa Rostock . He finished sixth in the ranking of the youngest Bundesliga shooters. He was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal as Young Player of the Year 2005 in the U-18 category.

In the following years Kruska established himself in the defensive midfield of Borussia, even if he was never a regular player. Mainly as a replacement for Sebastian Kehl , he played 18 games in his first professional season, 24 in the following year and 31 in the 2006/07 season . His second Bundesliga goal was a converted penalty kick in the 3-1 draw at BVB in Bremen in November 2006. Kruska was also regularly used in Borussia's first team in the 2007/08 season. With BVB he was also in the DFB Cup final in Berlin on April 19, 2008 , which was lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich . However, it was not used.

Club Bruges

After he was only sporadically used in the Bundesliga team of BVB in the first half of the 2008/09 season, Kruska moved to the Belgian club FC Bruges in January 2009 . There he signed a contract valid until summer 2011. Real Madrid had previously also expressed serious interest. At first, Kruska only played in the second team.

FC Energie Cottbus / FSV Frankfurt

Despite having a regular place, he left Bruges after six months. He signed a three-year contract with the German second division Energie Cottbus . He played his first game for Energie on September 14, 2009 in the 2: 4 defeat against Karlsruher SC . In the course of the season he became a fixture in Claus-Dieter Wollitz's game . From 2010 to 2013 he was team captain . For the 2013/14 season he was replaced by Uwe Möhrle in this role.

On January 3, 2014, Kruska moved to second division competitor FSV Frankfurt and signed a contract valid until 2016.

SC Paderborn 07 / Werder Bremen II

After being relegated to the 3rd division with Frankfurt, Kruska switched to SC Paderborn 07, who had also been relegated to the 3rd division, in the summer of 2016 . During the winter break of the 2017/18 season, he was signed by league rivals Werder Bremen II .

F91 Dudelange

On June 13, 2018, the reigning Luxembourg champion F91 Dudelange announced the commitment of Kruskas. Here he played in the group stage of the Europa League and was able to celebrate the championship at the end of the season .

Amateur area

For the 2019/20 season, he then returned to his hometown Castrop-Rauxel and joined the national division FC Frohlinde as a contract amateur for a year .

Trainer

Parallel to his contract in Frohlinde , he has also been assistant coach of the U19s at VfL Bochum in the A-Juniors Bundesliga since July 2019 .

Others

In addition to his football career, Kruska completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk at a large Dortmund VW car dealership , which he successfully completed in 2007.
