Career
The defender came as a youth player from SV Großschönach to SC Pfullendorf , where he was used nine times in the Regionalliga Süd in the 2000/01 season . In 2002 the trained banker moved to Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga , where he was only used twice in the first team in his first season . After that, however, he developed into a regular player and came to 58 league appearances in the two following years.
For the 2005/06 season he signed with MSV Duisburg , where he scored four goals in 31 games. Since the 2006/07 season he has been under contract with VfL Wolfsburg . On January 1, 2012 Möhrle moved to the second division club FC Energie Cottbus . Although he was the captain of Augsburg, he only played nine of 17 possible games after promotion to the Bundesliga in the summer, six of them over the full playing time. Möhrle signed a two and a half year contract until June 30, 2014. In May 2014, the contract was extended to June 30, 2016. In the 2014/15 season Möhrle scored eight goals and was the most dangerous defender in the 3rd division.
After relegating to the regional league with Cottbus in the summer of 2016, he ended his playing career. Möhrle returned to his former club VfL Wolfsburg in order to gain initial experience in the youth coaching sector in their football academy.
