Martin Finger (born September 23, 1990 in Chemnitz ) is a professional German poker player .

Personal

Finger grew up as the son of a building contractor in Frankenberg / Sa. near his hometown Chemnitz . In 2010 he completed his Abitur at the Martin Luther Gymnasium in Frankenberg. Finger lived together with the poker players Kilian Kramer and Thomas Mühlöcker in a shared apartment in Vienna . In November 2015, he was therefore seen in several scenes of the documentary In der Schwebe , which was broadcast as part of the small television game on ZDF .

Poker career

Career

Finger was already playing private rounds of poker with friends in ninth grade . At the age of 18 he deposited money at the online poker room PokerStars and intensified his game. Under the nickname 0Piggybank , he achieved the highest status as a supernova elite . Since 2010, Finger has also been participating in renowned live tournaments .

At the end of August 2011, Finger took second place at a side event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona and received prize money of 42,000 euros . In December 2011 he won the EPT Main Event in Prague and secured a prize money of 720,000 euros. In June 2012 finger was the first time in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and occurred in two tournaments of the variant No-Limit Hold 'em the money. In December 2012 he finished fourth in the High Roller of the World Poker Tour in Prague for 50,400 euros. In mid-January 2013, Finger cashed in at two events of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne and secured prize money of almost 200,000 US dollars . At the 2013 WSOP , Finger won a six-handed event for a bracelet and a prize of over $ 500,000. Two weeks later, he finished 14th in the WSOP 's $ 111,111 High Roller for One Drop for an additional $ 250,000. In early October 2013, Finger won the EPT Super High Roller in London with a prize money equivalent to more than 1.3 million US dollars, his largest prize money to date. At the beginning of May 2014 he finished sixth at the EPT High Roller in Monte-Carlo for more than 250,000 euros in prize money. At the beginning of January 2015, Finger took second place at the main event of the Latin American Poker Tour in the Bahamas for just under 225,000 US dollars. In March 2015, Finger represented Germany at the Global Poker Masters together with Ole Schemion , George Danzer and Marvin Rettenmaier . At the beginning of May 2015 he finished third at the EPT Super High Roller in Monte-Carlo for 437,000 euros. At the end of August 2015, Finger won the EPT high roller in Barcelona for more than 850,000 euros. He was the first player to complete the "Triple Crown" of the EPT and is still the only player alongside Steve O'Dwyer who can boast this success. In September 2017, Finger was in Macau for the Poker Cup and reached the final table of two high roller events within four days . This earned him prize money equivalent to just under $ 350,000. In mid-December 2017, Finger finished second in the high roller at the WSOP circuit in Sydney for just under $ 140,000.

In total, Finger has earned more than 7.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments , making him one of the most successful German poker players .
