Maxim Wassiljewitsch Lykow ( Russian Максим Васильевич Лыков ; English transcription Maxim Vasil'evič Lykov ; born September 21, 1987 in Balaschikha ) is a professional Russian poker player .

Poker career

Lykow plays online on all common platforms under different nicknames. His online poker tournament revenues are over six million US dollars , with the majority being won as $ uperdecay on PokerStars and kaketka on Full Tilt Poker . Since 2009 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments.

In June 2009 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished third in a shootout tournament. Two months later he became the first Russian to win the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Kiev . For this he prevailed against 295 other players and received prize money of 330,000 euros . In early May 2011 Lykow again reached the final table of an EPT main event and landed in Sanremo, Italy , in fourth place for 290,000 euros. At the 2011 WSOP he won a tournament variant No Limit Hold'em and a bracelet as well as its highest ever live cash prize of 650,000 dollars.

Overall, Lykow has earned more than $ 3.5 million in poker in live tournaments.
