Drinan comes from Arlington Heights in the US state of Illinois. He lives in Vancouver .

Poker career

Career

Drinan has been playing online since June 2007 under the nicknames blanconegro ( PokerStars ) and negroblanco ( Full Tilt Poker ) . He has nearly 9 million in online tournaments dollars won and stood in 2014 temporarily in fourth place of the Pocket Fives rankings, which lists the most successful online poker tournament players in the world. In 2016 and 2017 , Drinan won one title each at the World Championship of Online Poker on PokerStars . Since 2010 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

At the end of June 2010 , Drinan was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and took 70th place for around 7500 US dollars in an event in the No Limit Hold'em variant Prize money. In early August 2011, he won the Florida State Poker Championship in Pompano Beach with a prize of just under $ 380,000. He cashed a total of five times at the 2013 WSOP , including the final table in Six Handed No Limit Hold'em for $ 150,000 and eleventh place in the High Roller for One Drop , which earned him more than $ 300,000. At the World Series of Poker 2014 , he played the world's most expensive poker tournament, the Big One for One Drop, with a buy-in of one million US dollars. He was eliminated after a much discussed hand against Cary Katz , who just like Drinan held aces as a starting hand and took Drinan out of the tournament with a flush . At the Asia Championship of Poker in Macau , Drinan reached the final table at the super high roller event in early November 2014 and finished the tournament in fourth place for more than $ 650,000. He received his highest prize money to date of over 3 million US dollars in July 2015 when he finished third behind Brian Rast and Scott Seiver at the Super High Roller Bowl at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas . In January 2016, Drinan secured more than $ 1.5 million in two final tables at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas and the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne . At the end of August 2016, he won the high roller tournament of the European Poker Tour in Barcelona with a prize of around 850,000 euros . At the 2017 WSOP , Drinan finished 56th in the main event for around $ 120,000.

Overall, Drinan has earned over $ 11 million in poker in live tournaments .
