Vanessa Ashley Rousso (born February 5, 1983 in White Plains , New York ) is a professional American poker player .

Career

Rousso has been playing poker since she was five and started taking part in poker tournaments during her semester break in 2006 . In her first year as a tournament player, she won the money several times, for example she was eighth at a World Series of Poker tournament at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and at the main event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) at the Hotel Bellagio Seventh and won a tournament at the Borgata Poker Open in Atlantic City in mid-September . In 2009 she finished second in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship, worth $ 250,000 . In doing so, she switched off Doyle Brunson , Phil Ivey , Paul Wasicka , Daniel Negreanu and Bertrand Grospellier one after the other ; in the final she lost 2-0 to Huck Seed . At the beginning of May 2009, Rousso won the high roller of the European Poker Tour in Monte-Carlo and secured a prize money of more than 530,000 euros .
