Andreas Eiler (born November 24, 1972 ) is a German poker player and former soccer player .
Football career
Eiler played as a striker for the soccer clubs 1. FC Passau , SV Braunau and SV Schalding-Heining . He played 52 games (21 goals) in the fifth-class Oberliga Bayern and 13 games (three goals) in the second-highest Austrian division . Later Eiler was employed as a coach at SV Schalding-Heining . He lives in Schärding in Upper Austria .
Poker career
Eiler has been participating in renowned live tournaments since 2008 .
At the beginning of June 2008 Eiler won a Poker Masters tournament in Seefeld with a prize of around 30,000 euros . In May 2012 he won a high roller event at King's Casino in Rozvadov for 204,000 euros. At the end of June 2013 , Eiler was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . At the beginning of November 2017 he finished second behind Dominik Nitsche in the € 111,111 High Roller for One Drop of the World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov and received his highest prize money to date of around € 2.1 million. In April 2018 Eiler won a € 25k Super High Roller from the partypoker Millions in Barcelona with a prize money of 700,000 euros. At the 2018 WSOP , he finished fourth in the first high roller event for almost $ 900,000 in prize money.
In total, Eiler has earned at least five million US dollars with poker in live tournaments .
