Aaron Zang (born June 21, 1982 ; actually Shu Nu Zang ) is a professional Chinese poker player . He won the Triton Million for Charity in 2019 .

Personal

Zang played Magic: The Gathering during high school and won the Chinese championship this trading card game. He graduated from university in 2005. In 2013, he founded a company specializing in Bitcoin in Shenzhen .

Poker career

After his time at university, he got into poker through a friend. Zang regularly deposited money into the partypoker online poker room , which he repeatedly gambled away. In early 2006, his uncle gave him 1,000 yuan , which he eventually used to build a bankroll of 400,000 yuan. Zang has been playing professionally in Macau since 2007 and also takes part in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of May 2014 he finished third at a tournament on the European Poker Tour in Monte-Carlo and received almost 85,000 euros . At the end of May 2015, he finished second in the high roller event of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in Macau and secured the equivalent of around 220,000 US dollars . In the same place, he took fifth place in the APPT Super High Roller in November 2016, worth the equivalent of almost 250,000 US dollars. Beginning August 2019 Zang reached at Triton Million for Charity in London , which has a buy-in of one million pounds most expensive poker tournament world, the final table . There he prevailed heads-up against Bryn Kenney and secured prize money equivalent to more than 16.7 million US dollars due to a deal with him.

In total, Zang has earned more than 17.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments, making him the most successful Chinese poker player .
