The Main Event of the World Series of Poker in 1986 was the main event of the 17th staging of the Poker World Championship in Las Vegas .

Tournament structure

The main tournament of the World Series of Poker in No Limit Hold'em started on May 21st and ended with the final table on May 23rd, 1986. The tournament was held at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas . The total of 141 participants had to pay a buy-in of 10,000 US dollars each, and there were 36 paid places for them. With Wendeen Eolis , a woman reached the jury for the first time. She finished the tournament in 25th place for $ 10,000 in prize money.
