Bill Smith (born March 14, 1934 in Roswell , New Mexico , † February 28, 1996 in Nevada ) was a professional American poker player .

Career

Smith was a recurring participant in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas during the 1980s . At the main event , he was at three different final tables. While he finished fifth in 1981 and 1986, respectively, he won the title and $ 700,000 in prize money in 1985 .
