James Gary "Jim" Bechtel (* 1952 ) is an American cotton farmer and poker player . He won in 1993 the poker world championship and is overall two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Career

Bechtel missed his first tournament victory at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas just barely, when he in 1979 took second place at an event of the variant No-Limit Hold'em occupied. He made it in 1988 to the final table of the Main Event , where he the approximately 50,000 US dollar gained doped sixth. In November 1992, he won the Hall of Fame Poker Classic at Binion's Horseshoe for a prize of $ 214,000. At the 1993 WSOP , Bechtel was back at the final table of the main event and won the final hand with J 6 against Glenn Cozens 7 4 on a board of 10 8 3 2 5 . For the first time since 1979 an amateur won the main event. Bechtel received a prize of one million US dollars and a bracelet . At the 2006 WSOP, the jump to the final table of the prestigious $ 50,000 he succeeded expensive HORSE -Events , where he won about $ 550,000 thanks to a fourth place. At the 2019 WSOP , Bechtel prevailed in a tournament in No Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw and secured his second bracelet and the main prize of more than 250,000 US dollars. With the period of 26 years between two bracelets won, Bechtel set a new WSOP record.
