Ryan Thomas Riess (born June 21, 1990 in East Lansing , Michigan ) is a professional American poker player .

Riess has earned almost $ 15 million in poker in live tournaments . He won in 2013 the poker world championship and 2017, the Main Event of the World Poker Tour and is nicknamed Riess the Beast .

Personal

Riess completed a business degree from Michigan State University , which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2012 . During his studies he worked as a poker dealer .

Poker career

Career

Riess has been playing online poker since February 2015 . He uses on the platforms PokerStars , Party Poker and Americas Cardroom nickname MrMaximize and plays at WSOP.com as Bitc0in . In addition, he uses his real name at GGPoker . With online poker tournament he has more than 1.5 million US dollars earned.

In October 2012, Riess landed in the money for the first time in a professional live poker tournament and came second in the main event of the World Series of Poker circuit tournament in Hammond , which earned him prize money of almost 240,000 US dollars. In June 2013 he was successful for the first time in the main tournament series of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in three tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant . He then played the main event and reached the final table with the fifth largest chip stack , which was played in November 2013. At the beginning of May 2019, Riess reached the final table at the EPT main event in Monte-Carlo .
