Per Martin Jacobson (born June 30, 1987 in Stockholm ) is a professional Swedish poker player . He became the first Swede to win the World Poker Championship in 2014 .

Personal

Jacobson grew up in Sweden and worked as a cook while in the military in 2007 . He lives in London .

Poker career

Career

Jacobson learned poker at the age of 18 and started playing online on the PokerStars platform under the nickname m.nosbocaJ . Since 2008 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments.

European Poker Tour

Jacobson made the final table of the European Poker Tour Main Event four times . At the end of October 2008 he took third place in Budapest and won almost 200,000 euros in prize money. In August 2010 it reached second place in Vilamoura, Portugal, for almost 300,000 euros. At the end of January 2011, he finished second in Deauville, France, and took home 560,000 euros in prize money. In Berlin at the beginning of April 2011, he bagged 230,000 euros for fourth place.

World Series of Poker

In June 2009 Jacobson was the first time in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and finished at an event of the variant No-Limit Hold'em eighth. At the 2013 WSOP he took a. a. participated in the High Roller for One Drop , which required a buy-in of $ 111,111 . There he finished sixth as the best non-American for more than $ 800,000 in prize money. A year later, he reached the final table at the main event with the eighth largest chip stack , which was played in November 2014. Jacobson prevailed there at the November Nine and won prize money of ten million dollars and a bracelet . He took third place in the Player of the Year ranking. At the 2017 WSOP , Jacobson again finished sixth in the High Roller for One Drop for around $ 640,000.

Overall, Jacobson has earned more than $ 17 million in poker in live tournaments , making him the most successful Swedish poker player . At the final table of the main event of the 2015 WSOP , he was the coach of the Israeli poker player Zvi Stern , who finished fifth. From April to December 2016 Jacobson played as part of the Montreal Nationals in the Global Poker League and won the title with his team.
