Brad Daugherty (born July 5, 1951 in Mountain Grove , Missouri ) is a professional American poker player .

Career

Daugherty started playing poker in 1969 while on a high school trip. After high school, he worked in the construction industry. After learning of the high cash prizes at poker tournaments , he moved to Reno , Nevada , in 1978 . In 1987 he won his first tournament.

Daugherty won in 1991 , the Main Event of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and received a prize money of one million US dollars and a bracelet .

Daugherty wrote Championship Satellite Strategy and No Limit Texas Hold'em for New Players with Tom McEvoy . Although Daugherty doesn't travel much anymore to play poker, he does play in major tournaments and online . He lives in Las Vegas and has a son.

In total, Daugherty has made more than $ 1.8 million in poker playing live tournaments.
