The Rengg is a pass in the Swiss canton of Lucerne .
location
The pass over the Bramegg connects Schachen LU with Entlebuch LU and is located in the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere . The pass height is 959 m above sea level. M.
The Renggpass has always been an important pass between the Entlebuch and the Lucerne . The pass is mainly used as an alternative route for local traffic instead of driving via Wolhusen . The area is surrounded by many farms. There is a driving ban for trucks. The pass is open all year round.
The Rengg is not to be confused with the Renggpass on Pilate streamer Lopper , a transition between Hergiswil and Alpnachstad , where on 28 August 1802 " stecklikrieg " the insurgent Nidwaldner against the government troops of the Helvetic central government won a battle.
Since 2005 there has been a wind turbine on the Rengg in Feldmoos ; Another system was installed in 2011 ( Feldmoos / Rengg wind farm ).
