history
The Benken Pass was first mentioned in a document in 1426. Until 1801 it formed the border between Upper Austria and the Swiss Confederation . In 1977 a new Benkenstrasse was built, which was renovated in 2013. A sign on a stone by the car park on the top of the pass indicates this.
