The Staffelegg is a pass in the Swiss canton of Aargau and connects Aarau with the Fricktal. It is located between the towns of Küttigen , Thalheim AG and Asp . The pass is at 621 m above sea level. M. Between Küttigen and Densbüren and Staffeleggtal which runs the main road 24 next to the Staffeleggbach . There is a restaurant at the top of the pass. The Staffelegg was mentioned for the first time in 1450 and expanded in 1791 by Bern and Upper Austria .
From 1936 to 1939 Fritz Wartenweiler conducted courses for young men on the Staffelegg in the "Volksbildungsheim Herzberg".
Staffelegg feeder
The Staffelegg feeder is directed above Küttigen through a roundabout in the direction of Aarau. In the Horental it leads through the Horentunnel and crosses the Aare and the Suhre before Aarau . The feeder is the bypass road from Küttigen . The feeder should relieve Küttigen and connect the communities of Densbüren, Thalheim and Herznach more quickly with Aarau and the motorway.
Staffeleggstrasse
The Staffeleggstrasse is provided with a cycle path coming from Küttigen up to the top of the pass. From Densbüren the road leads in a few curves to the top of the pass. At the top of the pass there is a dangerous intersection where there have been many accidents. From Thalheim, the road leads over a wide S-curve and along a rock face to the parking lots on the Thalheimer Höhe, then with a 90 ° curve up to the Staffelegg pass.

The Aarau-Frick-Laufenburg post bus line leads over the top of the pass, including a stop, there is no connection via Schenkenbergertal.
A forest road leads directly from Staffelegg to Benkerjoch .
