The main road 24 is a main road in Switzerland . It connects Frick in the canton of Aargau with Sursee in the canton of Lucerne .

It begins in Frick at the roundabout to Hauptstrasse 3 and then leads through the Staffeleggtal over the Staffelegg to Aarau . After the Staffelegg, it takes you along the eastern edge of Küttigen through the Horental tunnel to the border between Küttigen and Biberstein , where it crosses the Aare and Suhre on a new bridge after the roundabout and meets the main road 5 in the Aarauer Telli . It then leads via Aarau train station ( Bahnhofstrasse ) to Aargauerplatz and finally out of Aarau. It then runs via Oberentfelden , Schöftland and Triengen to Sursee, where it joins Hauptstrasse 23 .

The total length of this main road is around 43 kilometers. It is expanded to two lanes.

history

The Staffeleggstrasse between Aarau and Frick was built in 1807-1811. It was the first road that the newly founded canton of Aargau built itself and was intended to connect the capital of the young canton with the formerly Austrian Fricktal .
