Course of the road
|
The Hauptstrasse 4 is a main road Switzerland and extends from barges to the German border on Schaffhausen , Zurich , train , Rotkreuz , Luzern , the Briinig until after Brienz , where it in the H6 opens.
course
The H4 is the continuation of the German federal highway 27 on Swiss territory. From Bargen it leads as a classified main road to Schaffhausen and bypasses the Galgenbucktunnel Neuhausen am Rheinfall. From there, the road runs across German territory as federal road 27 in the direction of Jestetten and Lottstetten in the German Klettgau . After returning to Switzerland, the road leads to Rafz and Eglisau. Through the Zürcher Unterland and the bypass of downtown Zurich over the Hardbrücke, the road continues to Zurich- Enge and through the Sihl valley to Zug . A bypass is being planned in Cham ZG , which would end in wooden houses ZG . In Rotkreuz ZG the H4 runs over the former bypass; a new one is being planned. From there, the H4 continues parallel to the Reuss and then through the Rontal to Lucerne . From Lucerne and Hergiswil NW , the road leads along the canton of Obwalden to the Brünig Pass . On the route from Sachseln, the H4 is largely congruent with the N8 national road , but the bypasses, which have been developed as a motorway, belong exclusively to the N8 / A8. After the Brünig Pass, the main road continues to the beginning of the A8 motorway; the H4 merges into the H6 .
Vignette requirement
For the A4 that continues, the vignette obligation begins at the Schaffhausen Schweizersbild junction .
