  • The Swiss Autobahn 23 or Autostrasse 23 , also Bodensee-Thurtalstrasse , begins at Müllheim near Frauenfeld on the A7 and leads via Weinfelden , Amriswil , Romanshorn and Arbon to the Meggenhus junction near Rorschach on the A1 . It is part of the national road 23.

Most of this road is still in the planning stage (→ Bodensee-Thurtalstrasse and Oberlandstrasse ).

    history

Before 2020 the first section at Müllheim was called T14, the section at Meggenhus A1.1. These sections have been referred to as the A23 since they were taken over into the national road network.

On September 25, 2005, a cantonal vote to expand what was then the T14 took place, which was rejected with 52% no votes. On September 23, 2012, there was another vote on a slightly modified project, which was approved. Under the leadership of ASTRA want Bodensee-Thurtalstrasse (BTS) to be built. It is planned as a car road with a maximum speed of 80 to 100 km / h, which is intended to complete the gap on the A23 that exists today.
