Jürg Stüssi-Lauterburg
Jürg Fred Stüssi-Lauterburg (born March 4, 1954 ; resident in Zurich , Fällanden and Maur ) is a Swiss military historian , former head of the library on Guisanplatz and politician ( SVP ).
Live and act
Stüssi-Lauterburg grew up in Zurich and Pfaffhausen . He studied general history, military history and oriental studies at the University of Zurich and graduated with a licentiate . In his licensed thesis (1978) he dealt with the self-image of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). It was in 1982 when Walter Schaufelberger at the University of Zurich with a dissertation The Swiss military affairs of the 17th century in a foreign viewpoint to Dr. phil. ( summa cum laude ) doctorate. Stüssi-Lauterburg was head of the Swiss Federal Military Library and the library on Guisanplatz from 1984 to 2016. He has written several works on Swiss military history. He has also authored publications for the right-wing associations IG Switzerland - Second World War and Pro Libertate . Stüssi-Lauterburg is a colonel in the general staff .
He has been a member of the SVP since 1974. Stüssi-Lauterburg is a member of the board of directors of SVP in the Brugg district and of the board of directors of SVP in the canton of Aargau . From 1986 to 1997 he was a local councilor in Windisch for twelve years . From 2003 to 2013 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau. Since April 1, 2013, he has been a part-time district judge at the Brugg District Court.
Stüssi-Lauterburg was President and is now a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Democracy , which was founded in 1991 by the political scientist Peter Sager . He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jegenstorf Castle Foundation and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Ballenberg Open Air Museum . Together with his wife Barbara Stüssi-Lauterburg, he leads trips for the Swiss Society for Military History Study Trips .
He has lived in Windisch since 1983, is married and has two children.
