Pro Libertate

Pro Libertate is a Swiss anti-communist , right-wing civil association.

Pro Libertate was founded in 1956 in response to the crackdown on the Hungarian popular uprising . The association published newspaper articles and a series of publications and held traveling exhibitions to raise awareness of the danger of communism. Long-time president was Max Mössinger ; The board is currently headed by Thomas Fuchs . As a result of the détente in the East-West conflict , Pro Libertate lost support and turned to the subject of the Swiss Army in particular . In 1989 she fought the group's first army abolition initiative for a Switzerland without an army . In connection with the critical appraisal of Switzerland's role in World War II in the Bergier report , Pro Libertate supported the traditional view of large sections of the “ active service generation ”.
