The Main Event of the World Series of Poker 1981 was the main tournament of the twelfth edition of the Poker World Championship in Las Vegas .

Tournament structure

The main tournament of the World Series of Poker in No Limit Hold'em started on May 19 and ended with the final table on May 24, 1981. The tournament was held at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas . The total of 75 participants had to pay a buy-in of 10,000 US dollars each, and there were nine paid places for them.
