Jay B. Heimowitz (born December 26, 1937 in Bethel , New York ) is a professional American poker player . He is six-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Poker career

Career

Heimowitz first played poker at the age of nine in order to finance his hobby, trading card games . At the age of 21 he joined the US Army . At that time he had already 10,000  US dollars obtained by the game of poker. Heimowitz invested the money won in his brewery, which he later sold to Budweiser .

He played his first tournament at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 1975 . Heimowitz won six bracelets in the tournament series over the years .

Overall, Heimowitz has earned over two million dollars with poker in live tournaments.
