The Main Event of the World Series of Poker 1980 was the main tournament of the eleventh edition of the Poker World Championship in Las Vegas .

The main tournament of the World Series of Poker in No Limit Hold'em started on May 17th and ended with the final table on May 22nd, 1980. The tournament was held at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas . The total of 73 participants had to pay a buy-in of 10,000 US dollars each, and there were five paid places for them.
