Michael "Mike" Hart (* 1951 or 1952 ) is an American poker player who won four bracelets at the World Series of Poker under both his real name and the pseudonym Mike Harthcock .

Poker career

Career

Hart comes from Escondido . He first took part in a prestigious live tournament in December 1983 . In 1984 he played under the pseudonym Mike Harthcock for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas and first took eighth place in a tournament in the Pot Limit Omaha variant , before he played in an event in Seven- Card Razz won. This success earned him $ 40,000 in prize money and his first bracelet . In the following years he reached the final table in several WSOP tournaments and made it into the money seven times from 1986 to 1988 . In 1986 he finished second in the main event . In addition to the WSOP, he finished second at the Grand Prix of Poker in January 1986 for just under $ 250,000 in prize money. In late April 1990 , Hart won a limit hold'em tournament at the WSOP with a buy-in of $ 1,500. This earned him his second bracelet and more than $ 250,000 in prize money. A year later he won a tournament in Seven-Card Stud Split and finished 22nd in the main event . At the World Series of Poker in 1992 he last appeared under the surname Harthcock and finished 16th at an event in Omaha 8 or Better .

From 1994 he was seen under his real name Mike Hart at the WSOP. On April 23, 1994 he again won a tournament in Seven-Card Razz and thus his fourth bracelet. In 2000 he was last successful at the WSOP. He then played a few smaller events, his last money placement was in February 2015. Nothing is known about his further life.

In total, Hart has made more than $ 1.5 million in poker playing live tournaments.
