Leonor "Leo" Margets Pérez (born August 10, 1983 in Barcelona ) is a professional Spanish poker player and author .

Personal

Margets studied business administration in London and then completed a master's degree in communication management . She is a good long distance runner and regularly competes in marathons in Barcelona. In 2014 Margets was part of the Spanish edition of the reality television show Survivor . She lives in Barcelona but also owns an apartment in London.

Poker career

Margets learned poker from a friend in 2007 and has been participating in prestigious live tournaments since 2008. She was part of Team PokerStars from March 2013 to the end of 2015 under the nickname L. Margets . Since the end of February 2018 she has been the advertising medium for the French online poker platform Winamax , where she plays under the nickname LeoMargets .

In July 2009 , Margets played at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . She was the only woman to reach the seventh day of the tournament, where she was eliminated in 27th place, endowed with over 350,000 US dollars . In January 2010, she finished third at a tournament of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne for just under 60,000 Australian dollars . In the 2010 WSOP Margets came twice in the variant No-Limit Hold'em the money. On June 30, 2010 the book Cómo jugar y ganar al póker: Texas hold'em y otras modalidades was published , which was written by Margets together with Dave Woods and Matt Broughton . At the end of November 2010 she made the money for the first time at the main event of the European Poker Tour and finished the tournament in Barcelona in 80th place for 11,000 euros . As part of the Full Tilt Masters Series , she won a tournament in Lloret de Mar in December 2010 with a prize money of 100,000 euros. In 2011 Margets published the poker book La reina del poker with Planeta-Verlag . In 2012 she cashed three times at the WSOP and won a. a. 22nd place at the Ladies Championship . At the WSOP 2016 , she finished 33rd in the newly held tag team event, in which she competed with the Dutchwoman Fatima Moreira de Melo . In February 2017, Margets published her third book, entitled ¡Juega bien tus cartas! En la vida y en los negocios . At the end of June 2017 she reached the final table at the main event of the PokerStars Festival in Marbella and finished the event in third place for 72,000 euros in prize money. At the 2018 WSOP , Margets finished second in a double-stack tournament for more than $ 120,000 in prize money.

Overall, Margets has made more than a million dollars playing poker in live tournaments.
