Amir Lehavot ( Hebrew אמיר להבות; Born May 7, 1975 at Tel Aviv-Jaffa ) is a professional Israeli - American poker player .

Personal

Lehavot graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an electrical engineering degree . He is the founder of the poker website PokerWit.com . Lehavot is married with one child and lives in North Miami Beach .

Poker career

Lehavot plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname AmirSF . Since 2007 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

In July 2009 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and finished in 226th place in the main event . His first major win came in February 2011 when he finished fourth at the World Poker Tour Main Event in Los Angeles for more than $ 400,000 in prize money. At the 2011 WSOP he won an event in the Variant Pot Limit Hold'em and almost 600,000 dollars in prize money and a bracelet . In July 2013 , Lehavot reached the final table of the WSOP main event with the second-largest chip stack , which was played in November 2013. There he landed in third place and received more than $ 3.7 million in prize money. At the 2015 WSOP Main Event , Lehavot coached Neil Blumenfield at the final table , who finished in third place. At the 2019 WSOP , Lehavot finished second out of 3,759 players in a deep stack event and secured almost $ 230,000.

Overall, Lehavot has earned more than six million dollars with poker in live tournaments, making it the most successful Israeli poker player .
