Steven Quale (* 1967 in Evanston , Illinois ) is an American film director , screenwriter , cameraman and film editor . He became known through films like Final Destination 5 or Storm Hunters .

life and career

Steven Quale was born in Evanston, Illinois, and grew up in the American Midwest . Quale has held various roles in the film business since the late 1980s. Director James Cameron first became aware of Quale through his 18-minute short film Darkness from 1988. He then hired Quale as editor for the editing of the special version of his film Abyss - Abyss of Death . In the late 1990s, Cameron then entrusted Quale with the role of second unit director for the blockbuster Titanic . In 2005 they made the IMAX documentary Aliens of the Seas together and in 2009 Steven Quale worked again as Second Unit Director and Visual Effects Supervisor at Avatar - Aufbruch nach Pandora with James Cameron.

After experiencing the 1995 cameraman experience directed by Alex Graves on the romantic drama The Crude Oasis and making his directorial debut as director of the television film Firefighter - Inferno in Oregon with DB Sweeney from 2002, Quale gave 2011 Final Destination 5 , part five the horror thriller series, and finally his screen debut as a cinema director. In 2014, Quale also directed the action thriller Storm Hunters with the cast Richard Armitage , Sarah Wayne Callies and Matt Walsh .

In 2017, he directed the action drama Renegades - Mission of Honor . The filming of the film with JK Simmons in the lead role took place in 2015.
