Daniel Bernard Sweeney
Daniel Bernard Sweeney (born November 14, 1961 in Shoreham , New York ) is an American actor .
Life
Daniel Bernard Sweeney initially wanted to become a professional baseball player , which became impossible due to a traffic accident. He graduated from Tulane University ; after that he appeared in several theater roles.
Sweeney made his film debut in 1985, starring Martin Sheen and Hector Elizondo in the television thriller Night When the Killer Comes . In the film drama The Stone Garden by Francis Ford Coppola in 1987 he played the role of the soldier Jackie Willow , who married Rachel Feld ( Mary Stuart Masterson ) and later died in a war effort in Vietnam . In 1993 he played the lead role in the science fiction mystery drama Fire in the Sky .
For his role in the film drama The Weekend , in which he starred alongside Gena Rowlands in 1999 , he won the New American Cinema Award at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2000 . He acted as director, screenwriter, producer and actor on the comedy Dirt Nap and won an award from the Boston International Film Festival in 2006 for this directorial work .
Sweeney is married to Ashley Vachon and has one child.
