action

Jane Porter works for the financial mogul Thaddeus Gault. After her colleague Mike jumped from the roof of the office tower one night, Jane discovers a USB stick in his office. There are documents on it that prove that Gault is involved in fraudulent financial transactions at the expense of his own company. She tells her colleague Ronald Taft about it, who advises her to secure further evidence while he wants to inform the stock exchange regulator.

When Jane is alone in the office that evening, Taft comes to her with Frank, whom he introduces to her as an internal investigator, but who actually works for Gault and Taft and pushed Mike off the roof.

Frank asks her about her discovery and wants to know who she talked to and whether she made copies of the USB stick. When he takes Jane's smartphone and destroys it, she realizes that Frank is not who he pretends to be and flees the office into the stairwell. Frank follows her and shoots her. Jane escapes into an elevator, which Frank brings to a standstill between the 10th and 11th floors. He climbs onto the cabin roof and wants to open the assembly flap from above in order to get inside and kill Jane. But he does not succeed in doing this because he needs special tools. Then Frank manages to open the elevator doors manually. Through the resulting gap, he fires into the elevator and injures Jane, who can knock the pistol out of his hand, so that it ends up in the cabin - but empty.

Frank is now calling an elevator technician, whom he tells that Jane is stuck in the elevator and is hysterical. The fitter opens the assembly flap, but realizes that Jane's statement that Frank wanted to shoot her is not a hysterical story, but the truth when he discovers a cartridge case. As a result, there is a fight between the two men in which Frank injures the fitter with a knife, who then rams a screwdriver into Frank's side, can escape to Jane in the elevator and thereby closes the elevator shaft so that Frank cannot more comes in.

When Frank, who finds his address in the fitter's wallet, threatens to go to his house and kill his family, the fitter opens the elevator shaft and fights with Frank again on the roof of the elevator car. After Frank knocked the fitter unconscious, Jane, who was hiding on the outside of the elevator, comes on the roof and fights against Frank, whom she ultimately defeats, so that he falls down the shaft into the depths.

A month later, Jane makes her testimony to the stock exchange regulator, so that Thaddeus Gault faces a jail sentence. She quits her job and sails away with her boyfriend.
