A group of five Navy Seals is trying to solve a long-forgotten riddle in Bosnia, which has been torn by civil war. A Nazi treasure worth hundreds of millions of dollars is said to be hidden in a lake. They want to distribute this among the war-torn population. The film received funding of 5 million euros from the German Film Funding Fund . The Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg granted production funding of 150,000 euros, and the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern supported the visual effects with 275,000 euros. Filming and film music
Filming began in April 2015. In Germany, the film was shot in Berlin and Potsdam . The Babelsberg studio located there is also the executive production company of Renegades . From April to June, the shooting took place in the Babelsberg film studios, including in the 500,000 liter water tank on the studio premises. In May 2015 the film was shot for two weeks at the Lausitz airfield in Finsterwalde / Schacksdorf . For this purpose, a US Army base was set up there. Other locations were in Malta and Belgium , where filming was done in the AED Studios in Lint . Another large part of the filming took place on locations in Croatia , including Zagreb and Hum , Karlovac , where a bridge was shot in Banija , Ogulin , where a bridge over the Dobra Gorge served as a backdrop, and Lake Lokve in the Primorje-Gorski kotar County . The shooting ended on August 28, 2015 after 73 days of shooting.
The score was composed by Éric Serra . The soundtrack for the film, which comprises a total of 28 pieces of music, is due to be released by EuropaCorp on August 24, 2018 .
Marketing and Publishing
A first trailer for the film was published in November 2016.
After some postponements, a theatrical release was planned for September 1, 2017. The film was released in theaters in a number of other European countries in early September 2017. As of December 2018, the film reached 17,424 viewers.
