Alain Blazevic , also Alain Blažević , (* 1970 in Wiesbaden ) is a German- Croatian actor .

Life

Alain Blažević was born in Germany to Croatian parents. His father owned a construction company; the mother ran a restaurant. The family comes from Stobreč , a suburb of Split , where Blažević also spent the early years of his childhood. He has two younger siblings. At the age of five he returned to Germany with his parents. He grew up bilingual (German / Croatian) in Wiesbaden, where he went to school and also did his Abitur . He then briefly studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) in Munich , but then decided to act as an actor after reading Lee Strasberg's book on method acting .

He went to New York City , where he enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute and from 1993 to 1995 a. a. completed his acting training in a full-time program at Hedy Sontag. From 1997 to 1999 he also completed postgraduate studies at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater , where he a. a. Attended master classes with Richard Pinter and learned the trade of the Meisner technique . To make a living, he worked as a model , a seller of vegetable products, a painter, a doorman in nightclubs and a barman, waiter and restaurant manager. Between 1997 and 2000 he played in various off-theaters in New York and Los Angeles , worked in a few low-budget films and began working as a screenwriter and ghostwriter for the Hollywood film industry .

After more than 12 years living in New York and Los Angeles, Blažević returned to Europe in the early / mid-2000s, where he settled in Berlin and continued to work as a screenwriter. In 2005, his screenplay Nachtrevue received an FFA sponsorship award . After several years in Berlin, Blažević went back to his homeland Croatia in search of his roots, where he soon got roles in Croatian television productions. 2008 had a guest appearance as an officer Dietrich in an episode of the Croatian television series The Pride of the Ratkajevs ( Ponosa Ratkajevih ). He then took on the continuous role of the villain David Hermann in the Croatian soap opera Zabranjena ljubav ( Forbidden Love ). He then received the continuous role of Dr. Robert Schmit in the Croatian telenovela Sve će biti dobro , in which he was seen from 2008–2009.

Blažević then worked increasingly for the European market; in particular, he was seen several times in German-language film and television productions in the following years. In the movie Max Schmeling (2009) he played the Czech film director and actor Karel Lamač . In the Münster crime scene: Between the ears (first broadcast: September 2011) he played Walter Petri, the father of an intersex daughter. In the German TV film Unterwegs mit Elsa (2014), he played the charming Croatian travel agency owner Milan Baric at the side of Michaela May . In March 2014 he was seen in the ZDF crime series SOKO Munich in an episode role; he played Goran Baric, the father and manager of a young Croatian-Turkish footballer.

Blažević also worked in various European film and television productions. In addition to Croatian and German, he also shot in Russian and Polish. He also appeared in over 70 international commercials, including a. for the cosmetics brand Old Spice .

Blažević has residences in Berlin, Split and the United States. He has been married to his wife Elica Blazevic since 2006. Paris has been his main residence since 2014 .
