The Nansen Reef is a rocky reef off the north coast of South Georgia . It is 7 km east-southeast of Cape George at a depth of at least two meters.
It is named after the Norwegian whaling ship SS Fridtjof Nansen under captain Kristian Anderssen, which sank after a collision with the reef on November 10, 1906.
