Cape George is a cape on the north coast of South Georgia . It is 9 km east-southeast of Barff Point and marks both the western limit of the entrance to Godthul Bay and Alsford Bay and the northern limit of Horseshoe Bay .
Participants of the Second South Sea Voyage (1772–1775) of the British navigator James Cook discovered the Cape. Cook named it after the British monarch George III.
