Noriko Yamanaka

Noriko Yamanaka ( Japanese 山 中 教 子 , Yamanaka Noriko ; * around 1941) is a former Japanese table tennis player . She was world champion three times in the 1960s.

Career

Noriko Yamanaka won the Japanese National Singles Championship in 1962 and 1964 . In addition, there was a win in doubles with Kazuko Itō in 1963 and in mixed with Keiichi Miki in 1966.

At the Asian Games ( Asian Games ) she won four titles, namely in 1962 and 1966 both with the team and doubles with Masako Seki (1962) and Naoko Fukazu (1966). As in 1966, he finished second behind Naoko Fukazu.

In her first participation in a World Cup in 1963 in Prague, she won gold with the Japanese team, in doubles with Kazuko Ito , she reached the semifinals. In 1965 she reached the final both with the team and in doubles with Masako Seki . She won bronze in the individual. There were two gold medals in the absence of the Chinese athletes in 1967 , namely in mixed with Nobuhiko Hasegawa and in team competition, the doubles with Naoko Fukazu lost in the final to compatriots Saeko Hirota / Sachiko Morisawa . She was third in the individual.

In the ITTF world rankings she finished third in mid-1967. In 1967 she ended her active career.
