Busy Philipps
Elizabeth Jean "Busy" Philipps (born June 25, 1979 in Oak Park , Illinois ) is an American actress and screenwriter .
life and career
Philipps got her nickname Busy (literally in German: "busy", meaning: "overzealous") from her parents, because she was always on the move as a small child. The name has remained with her to this day and is also on her driver's license. Philipps attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale , Arizona , where she also grew up. She took acting classes at the Actors Lab in Arizona and the Oxford School of Drama in England . She later moved to Los Angeles and studied Dramatic Art at Loyola Marymount University .
Philipps became known through roles in the television series Voll besides, full in life and Dawson's Creek, as well as through her leading role in the film Home Room (2002). She was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in 2002 for her role in the series Dawson's Creek .
Philipps is married to the screenwriter Marc Silverstein . The couple has two daughters (* 2008 and * 2013). She is also the godmother of the daughter of Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams , with whom she played together in Dawson's Creek .
