Monica Keena (* 28. May 1979 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is an American actress .

life and career

Keena grew up in Brooklyn, New York, as the daughter of a nurse and sales manager. After attending a private school, she was accepted at the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts at the age of 13 . In 1994 she got her first TV role in A Promise Kept: The Oksana Baiul Story . A year later, Keena appeared in the film While You Slept with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman .

In 1996 she played the lead role in the drama Ripe . A year later she played the title role in Snow White . In this film version of Grimm's fairy tale with elements of horror , she was seen at the side of Sigourney Weaver , who appeared in the role of the evil stepmother. The next few years were followed by other film projects such as On behalf of the devil , Strike - Girls in Power! and The President's Daughter: In Deadly Peril , in which Keena mostly acted in supporting roles.

From 2000 Keena played increasingly in television productions before she appeared in the horror flick Freddy vs. Jason could take on the female lead. In 2005, the comedies Zickenterror high school and The Lord of the House followed . On television, Keena made a name for herself with appearances on popular series such as Law & Order , Homicide , Entourage and Grey's Anatomy . She also gained greater fame through her role as Abby Morgan in the WB series Dawson's Creek .
