action

Judith Dunn, called Noelle by everyone, works in accounting for Aikens in Forest City. Aikens is the city's largest and most important employer and makes all kinds of Christmas decorations. After the death of the owner Gordon Aikens, nobody from the Aikens family takes care of the management. Noelle feels called to higher things and wants to move to New York as a businesswoman .

When she and her friend Priscilla inflate a huge Santa Claus in the city center , Noelle has a mishap. Santa Claus climbs into the sky and then falls on a car that is just passing by. The driver Justin Allen then invites Noelle to dinner. Both get closer and begin a tentative romance. Justin, who leads a nomadic life and travels the world, is offered a job by Noelle at Aikens in the camp, where her mother Mary Lee is department head. In love with both ears, Noelle is very happy until Ashley, Gordon Aikens' granddaughter and tough businesswoman, shows up to check the company's situation. More and more often she discovers how Justin and Ashley talk and also spend time together privately. Jealous, she confronts Justin and lets him calm her down again. At the company, she discovers that monthly payments are made from a private Aikens account, without which the company would have long been bankrupt . Ashley announced the closure a short time later.

One day she and Priscilla are following Justin, who has just bought flowers and is driving to the cemetery with Ashley. There they both deposit the flowers at the grave of Gordon Aikens. It turns out that Justin's last name is Aikens and he is Gordon's grandson. His last will was to transfer the company to him after he had worked there as a normal worker. Justin promises Noelle that if she presents him with a solution, he will keep the company alive.

When the large department store chain Globermart wanted to open a branch in Forest City that would mean the end of the local retailers, it came up with the idea. In collaboration with Mayor Conway, she proposes that Globermart manager James Emerson be allowed to build outside the city in exchange for tax breaks, but with the stipulation that Aikens products should be sold in department stores across the country. This proposal is skeptically forwarded to the Globermart headquarters. Justin has now decided to settle down in Forest City and take over the management of the company. Noelle is overjoyed. After a sentimental Christmas event in town, everyone meets in a bar, where Noelle finds out that Globermart agrees. Aikens is thus saved. Justin Noelle surprises Noelle with a present on Christmas morning. It includes stock options and the position of managing director in the company. They both kiss happily.

criticism

“In terms of the basic constellation, a slightly different Christmas story, which ultimately only brings together the familiar elements. Sentimental entertainment in television format. "

“A cute blonde tries her hand at being a cool business lady, loses her heart to a hot laborer who is actually a prince in disguise, and saves Christmas from the triumph of predatory capitalism. Dedicated actors with catalog faces are negligently synchronized in this cheerful TV stir-ring, made according to all the rules of the art, about love, the advantages of mutual understanding and the delights of the festive roof installation.
