Peter Allen (composer)
Peter Allen (born February 18, 1952 in Ottawa , Ontario ) is a Canadian composer.
Life
Allen holds a degree in composition from the University of Manitoba a . a. at Robert Turner . In 1975 he graduated from there and then took up further studies at McGill University . Until 1980 he was active as a keyboard player for various music groups and then worked as an organist at St. Mary's Cathedral in Winnipeg .
In the mid-1980s he took up further studies and devoted himself to film music. For this he moved to Los Angeles . He has been the composer for Michael Bafaro and Ron Oliver since 1988.
Allen has his own music studio in British Columbia . He is a member of the Canadian League of Composers and is a co-founder of the Manitoba Composers Association.
In 2006 he received the Leo Award for his work on Flower & Garnet .
