Christmas Town is a US-American - Canadian Christmas film by George Schbamer from the year 2008. A mother gets lost with her son in the Christmas town and thus finds her belief in Christmas again.
action
Liz McCann and her son Mason want to visit Grandpa Jack in Hollyville for Christmas. Despite directions, they simply cannot find the city. Suddenly Mason makes his mother stop because he saw a reindeer. Mason runs deep into the forest and sees a town in the valley before him. He proudly announces to his mother that they have finally found the place. Back in the car, the car doesn't start and Mason assures that they could walk, since it's not far.
When they arrive, they find that the small town is actually called Hollyville, and Liz thinks that Christmas seems a little too serious here. In a snack bar they run into Grandfather Jack, who works as a cook here. While Liz talks extensively with her father because she cannot fully understand his new living conditions, Mason continues to look around the city and arrives at the "NP Enterprises" premises, which are surrounded by a security fence. Through the fence he thinks he saw a large sled being loaded and that the security guards look a little like red nutcrackers.
Liz meets Roxy who wants to fix her car, and Liz hopes they can go home soon. In the meantime, Grandpa Jack takes her to his hut, which has a huge Christmas tree. It turns out that Liz doesn't like Christmas at all. Mason, on the other hand, is extremely curious and finds out that "NP Enterprises" is called "North Pole Enterprises" and that Santa's elves work there. When the boy tells his mother about it, she doesn't want to hear any of the "Christmas stuff". But Kevin, a young man she meets again and again in town, would like to convince her otherwise. Just like Mason, which is why he secretly takes photos of Santa's sled, but in the process he gets in the middle of the preparations for the transport of the sled to the "NP Enterprises" site. Once there, he observes how numerous elves load the sledge and try to harness the reindeer. When he discovers the huge toy store and then faces Santa Claus in person, he is completely thrilled. Liz is now worried about her son and is looking for him. With Kevin's help, she finds him at "NP Enterprises". Mason enthusiastically tells his mother what he has experienced, and after Liz sees the light in the boy's eyes, she gradually begins to believe in the magic of Christmas. After realizing that she has fallen in love with Kevin too, it becomes the best Christmas ever for her.

criticism
Kino.de initially said: “A Christmas hater is cured by the power of love, the miracles of Christmas Night, and friendly neighbors who have a firm effect on her, in this bright and colorful fairy tale set in a toy land scene with a naive message for them whole family. [...] Definitely a tip for Christmas romantics. ”But the critics also think it is a:“ Christmas film that conveys its message with a penetrance that borders on brainwashing. ”
