Tom Welling
Thomas Welling (born April 26, 1977 in Putnam Valley , New York ) is an American actor .
Life
He was born the son of an executive at the General Motors automotive company . He grew up in his father's locations in Hockessin , Delaware and Okemos , Michigan . After graduating from Okemos High School in 1995, he initially worked as a construction worker, where he continued to live with his parents. In 1998 he was discovered by a talent scout as a model for a goods catalog. Welling moved to Los Angeles in 2000 , where he worked as a model, a. a. for Tommy Hilfiger , worked and at the same time tried to start an acting career.
His first major role was a guest appearance in the television series For All Cases Amy (2001), in which he played Amy Brenneman's romantic lover Rob Melzer for six episodes .
Welling had his breakthrough as Clark Kent in the successful US series Smallville , in which he plays the still youthful Superman , who has to struggle with his ever-increasing powers. A young and fresh face was sought for this role across the USA. Welling initially refused twice, then finally accepted and became a star through this series. He moved to Vancouver to film Smallville . In March 2011, he moved back to Los Angeles , California .
From July 2002 to the end of October 2013, he was married to Jamie A. White. In April 2018, Welling announced the engagement to Jessica Rose Lee. The couple's first child, a son, was born on January 5, 2019.
Wellings German standard dubbing voice is Timmo Niesner .
Welling has Irish, German and Indian ancestry.
