Andrew Robert "Andy" Dick (born December 21, 1965 in Charleston , South Carolina ) is an American actor who works primarily in television series.

biography

Andy Dick was adopted by Allen and Sue Dick after his birth and grew up with them. His birth name is Thomlinson. He became famous for the role of Matthew Brock on NewsRadio .

In his MTV - reality show The Assistant he was looking for a new personal assistant and parodied it formats like The Apprentice , Survivor , The Bachelor , and Fear Factor . Most of the candidates had to deal with absurd tasks. Despite being a satirical show, the 12 candidates were real and the winner, Melissa, was hired by MTV.

In private life, Dick was close friends with the late Phil Hartman , Chris Farley, and David Strickland . He has been repeatedly involved in public controversy and has been sued several times, including for sexual harassment. Dick has also been tried several times for drug offenses.
