Beth Behr (* 26. December 1985 in Lancaster as Elizabeth Ann Behr ) is an American actress , through their role in the sitcom 2 Broke Girls became known.

Life

Beth Behrs was born in 1985 in Lancaster , Pennsylvania, the eldest daughter of David Behrs, president of a college , and elementary school teacher Maureen Behrs. She has a sister six years her junior. In 1989 the family moved to Lynchburg, Virginia . She began acting in the theater at the age of four, played soccer, and attended EC Glass High School .

At fifteen, she moved with her family to the Marin County of California . She attended Tamalpais High School from 2001 and was accepted into the school's actor program. Behrs trained at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and played in the musical Dangling Conversations: The Music of Simon and Garfunkel as well as in the plays Korczak's Children and Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day . She received classical singing training.

In 2004 Behrs moved to Los Angeles , where she still lives today, to study at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television . In 2005 she played Sandy Dumbrowski in a production of Grease at the Ray of Light Theater in San Francisco . In 2006 she was named Miss Marin County. In her senior year she began auditioning for a few roles. In 2008 she graduated in Critical Theory . Then Behrs received a grant from the Young Musician's Vocal Foundation. In July 2016, Behrs got engaged to actor Michael Gladis after a six-year relationship . The wedding took place in July 2018.

Career

Beth Behrs received her first film role in the teen comedy American Pie Presents: The Book of Love , for which she stood in front of the camera in Vancouver for seven weeks from March 2009 . The film is the seventh installment in the American Pie series and was released on December 22, 2009. She starred in the independent comedy Serial Buddies , which is about a group of clumsy serial killers and was produced by Maria Menounos . At the end of 2010, Behrs made the independent film Route 30, Too! in Chambersburg , Pennsylvania , where she played an alien.

Behrs made guest appearances in the crime series Navy CIS: LA and Castle . She worked as a nanny and in the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood , Los Angeles , as she for a role in the 2011 CBS - sitcom 2 Broke Girls auditioned. She got a lead role after auditioning seven times. In it, she played the role of Caroline Channing, who is forced by financial difficulties, as a waitress in New York district of Williamsburg to work.

Since 2018 she has played the leading role of Gemma Johnson in the television series The Neighborhood .
