Life

Shepperd was born in Chicago and later grew up with her three sisters in Hoffman Estates , a suburb of Chicago. She attended Winston Churchill Elementary School and Eisenhower Junior High School , and Hoffman Estates High School . In 1993 her mother died of complications from her diabetes and her sister was a drug addict. She also had a promiscuous lifestyle at the time , which resulted in multiple abortions.

Shepherd was raised a Jehovah's Witness in strict faith and became a born again Christian after moving to Los Angeles .

She was married to actor Jeff Tarpley from 2001 to 2006 . The marriage resulted in a common child. In her second marriage, she has been married to television writer Lamar Sally since September 13, 2011.

Career

Shepperd initially worked as a paralegal and practiced stand-up comedy in the evenings . She had her first television role in 1995 in the short-lived series Cleghorne! . In the following years she continued to work as a legal assistant and had guest appearances in various television series, including Friends .

In 1999 she got a supporting role in the fourth and final season of Susan . She then had minor roles in various films and played a leading role in the television series Office Girl from 2002 to 2006 on the side of Eric Roberts , Zachary Levi and Sara Rue .

Since September 10, she has been the presenter of the television program The View , which is broadcast in the United States by ABC , and replaced together with Whoopi Goldberg the previously retired presenters Star Jones and Rosie O'Donnell .

Sheperd has been criticized many times for her creationist worldview and her biblical view of history. They confirmed in The View on 18 September 2007, not evolution to believe ( "I do not believe in evolution. Period.") And claimed to have never thought about whether the earth flat is or round. This earned her ridicule, as did her testimony in The View on December 4, 2007, when she claimed in a debate about Epicurus that there were Christians in ancient Greece who were accused of the lions. When asked that this period was to be classified in the time before Christ, Shepherd replied that Christ "came first" ("Jesus came first") and she does not believe that there was anything at all before the Christians.
