Beilight: Till (s) dinner is an American parody of the vampire saga Twilight from 2010. Directed by Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg . The film opened in American cinemas on August 18 and was released in German cinemas on September 9.

action

After her mother starts an affair with Tiger Woods , Rebecca "Becca" Crane moves to Sporks to live with her father Frank. She quickly makes friends with other students from the local high school and is fascinated by the mysterious Edward Sullen. Later Becca is almost run over by a car in the school parking lot. Edward moves in a flash towards the car from several meters away and stops the vehicle by pushing a student of Asian origin between them. He refuses to explain how he did this and warns Becca not to befriend him. After extensive research, Becca believes Edward is a Jonas brother . Edward then tells Becca that he is a vampire who only drinks animal blood. But he still wants to emphasize that he is a murderer and shoots a girl who happens to be there. Rebecca and Edward fall in love and Edward introduces Becca to his vampire family. But while Becca is unwrapping a present, she cuts herself on the wrapping paper. From the smell of her blood, Edward's family relapses and tries to kill Becca. Edward realizes his family is too dangerous for Becca and ends the relationship while rescuing Becca from three nomadic vampires who drink human blood and who are believed to be The Black Eyed Peas by having one of them with one Baseball bat cutting off his head.

Edward's departure is heartbreaking for Becca and she is depressed for months. She befriends Jacob White, who helps her forget Edward. Because of his strange puberty, Becca discovers that he is a werewolf - who can only turn into a Chihuahua - who killed another of the three nomadic vampires. Through a series of misunderstandings, Edward believes Becca killed himself. Now he tries to provoke the Zolturi - a powerful vampire group that is able to kill him - by standing in the sun. Becca rushes to Edward to save him - but Edward's female fans and Jacob's female fans - arguing who is better - make this seem impossible at first. After a fight between Zolturi leader Daro and Edward, Edward is forced to turn Becca into a vampire. He says he doesn't do this until after he's married her. After Edward is hit on the head by a female Jacob fan and it looks like he's dead, part of the credits starts. Then you see Becca as a vampire, taking revenge on the Jacob fan for the blow on Edward's head, while you see Edward slowly getting up again, then the film ends.

criticism

“Poor vampires. They've been wimps since the three Twilight films. Now they become funny characters in “Beilight - Biss zum Abendbrot”. The film wants to parody, but remains slapstick for fans of infantile brute humor. "

- Andreas Böhme : West German General Newspaper

“Not only the story, but the actors too, look very similar to the originals. But except for Jenn Proske, none of them can convince. The newcomer imitates the excruciating expression of " Bella Swan " actress Kristen Stewart almost perfectly . However, that is the only positive thing about "Beilight - Biss zum Abendbrot". The makers of “ My wife, the Spartans and I ” (2008) and the “ Scary Movie ” series do not leave out any underground gag in their pastiche. So z. B. Jacob to a Chihuahua instead of a werewolf, and Edward serves his vampire family the delivery boy as Chinese fast food. Overall, the spoof movie doesn't have more than two or three really nice punchlines. Conclusion: With so much infantile joke, the parody invites people to be ashamed rather than laughing. "

"Tried satire on" Twilight - Bite zum Morgengrauen ", which burns down boring gags every minute and is exhausted in simple re-enactment. A half-baked assembly line product with absolutely talentless actors, enriched with grunt and fart humor and awkward slapstick. "
