Monika John (born May 31, 1935 in Berlin ) is a German actress and voice actress .

Life

After taking acting lessons in Berlin and Munich, she made her debut in 1953 in the play Süd by Julien Green at the Residenztheater in Munich. From 1953 to 1955 she had an engagement at the municipal theaters of Osnabrück . She then became a freelance actress and made guest appearances at the Volksbühne Berlin , among others . From 1973 to 1979 she was part of the ensemble of the Münchner Kammerspiele , from 1979 to the end of the 1980s she was part of the ensemble of the Bavarian State Theater .

Monika John usually took on minor roles in the theater, mainly in comedies. She made a big appearance in 1987 as Ella in Manfred Karge's monologue jacket like pants . She has appeared in film and television since 1957. She often embodied the somewhat honest woman next door. For example, she portrayed the wife of the police sergeant major Karl Dambrowski ( Wilmut Borell ) in the television series Funkstreife Isar 12. She also worked in the dubbing.
