An Austrian comedy from 1996 is an almost perfect fling . After the film's great success, two sequels were produced, the last of which, An Almost Perfect Wedding , hit theaters in 1999.

Henny, a self-confident tailor, lives with her quirky parents in a village near Cuxhaven. She is in a relationship with Martin, the son of the noble family who own the local shipyard. Shortly before the planned wedding, Henny learns that Martin's arrogant mother has spied on her private life. Thereupon she refuses to say yes in front of the altar and runs away. Without a cent in her pocket, she flies to Vienna, where she meets Sigi. Henny thinks Sigi is a wealthy bachelor, but in reality he is a married window dresser. Sigi's marriage is in crisis and he is falsely suspected of infidelity by his wife. Henny and Sigi fall in love, but when Henny learns that Sigi is married and has a daughter, she runs away again, whereupon Sigi leaves his wife and follows Henny.
